Work at NES

We are a small company doing serious work. Since 2017 we have grown from a startup to an agency that has tested more than 90 million square feet of slab across Southern California, and we have done it with people who show up when concrete gets placed and write the report before they go home.

What it is like here

The owner still answers the phone. There is no layer of management between you and a decision.

The work is real. You will be on jobsites, in the dirt, on slabs, in freezers, and on night pours. Some of it is 4 a.m. in July in Fontana.

We pay for certification. If you want to add an ICC category or an ACI certification, we will cover the cost and the study time, because it makes you better at the job and it makes the company able to take more work.

We do not ask anybody to sign something they did not observe. If you find a discrepancy, you report it. That is the entire job and nobody here will pressure you to do otherwise.

Who we hire

Special inspectors. ICC certified in one or more categories, or certified in an adjacent field and willing to test for more. Concrete, masonry, structural steel, welding, soils, and fireproofing.

Field technicians. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, or willing to certify. This is the entry point into the industry and we have promoted people from it.

Floor tolerance technicians. We will train the right person. This is specialized work and there is no school for it.

Drivers and drilling crew. CDL Class A or B, clean record, willing to work nights and travel.
